Achievements
As a result of proper initiative of the District Food Controller, Naogaon, the supply of food grains in the market of this upazila and the market price has remained stable. Naogaon district is considered as a food self-sufficient and food surplus upazila. For the purpose of sending to Sri Lanka, 7500 metric tons of rice has been sent from Naogaon district to Halishahar CSD, out of which 4000 metric tons of rice has been sent from this upazila. It has been possible to achieve the target of paddy procurement in order to provide incentives to the farmers at a higher rate. Paddy is being procured by registering in the Agricultural Ingredients Assistance Card and National Identity Card. The price of paddy is being paid directly to the farmers as their own bank.
